I feel the need to post a "blog update" but I'm not even sure what to say except to give a boring update. Well at least you're warned!
Our summer has remained busy. We made it through an awesome week at the houseboat camp for our church's high school department. Once again I must say . . . what a way to do camp. My co-small group leader and I (Rychelle -- pictured here) had a boat with 11 wonderful girls. Every day we took the boat out to the middle of the lake and spent the afternoon swimming. The best day was when we took it out late in the afternoon to swim. We swam, jumped off the top of the boat, took "baths" in the lake, did pedicures, had a bbq dinner, etc. What an afternoon!
We made it through Miles' 2 week business trip to San Diego. Verizon was quite a life saver during those 2 weeks apart! Since he's been back we've gone on one camping trip with baby in tow, and spent one night at our favorite bed and breakfast, without baby this time. We've also said goodbye to the boys from Miles old small group who have all left for college. We had a bbq at our house last week and had about 20 kids show up. It was a great time!!
I (Brenda) have also started a new job. One where I'm able to work almost exclusively from home. I am an advocate with parents of children with disabilities, mostly autism. I'm just starting the position, but I think I'll enjoy it. And did I mention I can work almost exclusively from home?!!
Hope you're all having a wonderful summer. We had a reminder today that fall is on the way as we endured temps in the 60's and rain. So I'm going to soak up every last day of summer in this wonderful place.
