Well, life seems to keep changing in the Torres household. Two of the most recent changes? I (Brenda) am giving up private practice to stay home with the kids full-time. It's something we've been working toward for awhile, and God has finally opened the doors. Out of the blue, my colleague and I were released from the obligation to fulfill our commitment of a one year lease on our office space, which would technically end in November. And with Miles' new job (technical writer for Broadband Instruments a.k.a. Slacker) we are able to do it financially. Plus, I'm tired most days, sometimes to the point where I doubt my effectiveness with my clients. The clincher was the day I went to get dressed for work and put my underwear on over my pj pants and my shirt on backwards! Yes, I need more sleep!! So at the end of April, Brenda Torres, Licensed Professional Counselor, will be closing her doors to be Brenda Torres, full-time mommy and youth ministry leader to my wonderful H.S. girls. I can't wait.
The second change is that we will be selling our house. Please pray for a quick sale so we can get it done and move on with our lives. We will be moving into a rental for awhile, in order to "regroup" financially. Am I sad? Really not! I am excited to get into a different house. I'm crazy like that where every few years I'm ready for change. And I know that it is the wisest decision for us right now.
Well both kids are sleeping so I better take my opportunity now to try and clean the house. We have a foster parent relicensing visit today. Hard to believe that it's been a year since we became foster parents.
